Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kweku Frimpong with the stage name Black Sherif or Blacko is a Ghanaian Hip-hop, and Trap musician, songwriter, and performer.
Black Sherif began his music career in 2019, after releasing his first single, “Money” which went viral, followed by First Sermon his second hit song. Black Sherif became an African and global sensation after the release of his song Second Sermon, and a Remix of the song in which he featured Burnaboy.
His recent song Kwaku the Traveler (April, 2022) has further solidified the talent of the young artist. The song which captures the theme of inexperience and how fallible we all are as humans resonated with so many people causing it to become one of the most sharzamed song in world (April, 2022). And about 1million views on youtube just after 6 days of the song release. The song has also caused Black Sherif to become the First-ever Ghanaian to top Nigerian Music Chart.
He has also won several awards in Ghana like the breakthrough Act of The Year (2021), Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of The Year(2021), and the Entertainment Personality of the Year(2021).
Black Sherif was born on January 9, 2002, in Konongo, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, where he was raised and had his primary and junior high school education. He continued to Kumasi Academy for his senior high school education where he studied General Arts. Although his secondary education was academically challenging for him, he was able to sail through. Black Sherif is currently a student of University of Professional Studies (UPSA) where he is studying marketing.
According to Black Sherif he began his entertainment career as a dancer and a rapper while in secondary school. Although he knew he could sing, he didn’t know he could write a song until 2019 when he gave it a try and it became a hit.
