The Secret to Success is Managing your Failures-Daniel McKorley

Daniel McKorley is a Ghanaian business magnate, the founder, and Chief executive of the McDan Group. McKorley is arguably one of the most successful businessmen in Ghana and was declared the Entrepreneur of the year 2016 at the Ghana Aviation Awards.

In a recent post, the business mogul mentioned that he is mostly asked the million-dollar question of what the secret to success is? According to him, he thinks people expect him to answer dedication, commitment, hard work, diligence, smart work, passion, or even having the right habits. But the actual secret to success is managing your failures.

The post reads;

“Every once in a while, I find people asking me what the secret to success is. I think they expect me to say dedication, commitment, hard work, diligence, smart work, passion, or even having the right habits. And maybe, just like them, you’re not going to like the answer. But the actual secret to success is managing your failures. Period.

Failure feels terrible. It’s demoralizing, embarrassing, and can wreck your self-confidence if you let it. However, failure can be one of your most valuable teaching tools if you’re willing to learn some hard lessons. Like I said in a post I made a few days ago, having the courage to fail can pay huge dividends in your life and your career.

When you’re not afraid of failing, you’re more likely to take risks in your career. And being willing to take risks – and even fail along the way – can strengthen your reputation, help you come up with innovative and original ideas, and lead to new opportunities. It can help you start a new business, land a job you love, and follow your craziest entrepreneurial dreams. So when you do fail, take the opportunity to learn so you can grow. Failure won’t kill you but your fear to fail just may keep you from success”.
